We do not price jobs around shortcuts. The process is built to protect your home, prepare surfaces properly and deliver a cleaner, longer lasting result.

Walk-through, scope and quote
We visit the job, walk through each area with you, talk through colours, finishes and any problem spots, then send a clear written quote so you know exactly what is included.

Preparation done properly
This is where the time goes. Gaps are filled, cracks opened and repaired, surfaces sanded, dust removed, masking completed and primers used where needed. Where specialist plastering or skim work is required, trusted subcontractors are brought in so the surface is ready before paint goes on.

The right finish for the surface
Ceilings, doors and trims are sprayed where it adds value. Walls are carefully cut and rolled where that gives the best control. The goal is a sharper, more even final finish.

Tidy wrap-up and handover
Work areas are kept organised, rubbish is removed and the job is walked through properly at the end. You are left with a clean space and a finish that has been properly checked before handover.

TKR Painting is family-run: Akeisha manages your initial calls and emails, while Troy handles the site visits, quoting and painting—ensuring the person quoting your job is the one on the tools.
TKR Painting focuses on the parts big crews often rush: careful prep, tidy work and high-quality finishes. Whether it’s a heritage villa, bungalow, weatherboard exterior or a modern new build, jobs are booked so there’s enough time to do them properly.
You’ll deal directly with Akeisha and Troy from the first message to the final walk-through. We use premium brands like Resene and Dulux specifically chosen for the Dunedin climate.
From GIB plasterboard prep to the final coat, the goal is simple: leave your place looking sharp and feeling great to live in.

Workmanship guarantee
Two years on our workmanship. Manufacturer warranty on the paint we use (typically 5–10 years on Resene / Dulux exterior products). If something doesn't look right, call or text 020 474 6165 and I'll come look at it.
